First and foremost, hello! There're lots of news to tell you guys! Where to start? Perhaps we'd told you before that we were ready to leave Rome after three years, mostly because I'm tired of my work and tired of being an illegal immigrant. Stef is tired of big city living (or at least, he craves a bit of green) and so, he applied for some jobs a while back, and crazy, 6 months later he got picked for one of them while we were in the full Roman summer swing, living the beachy sunsun late-dinner hot thing, when nothing at all seemed serious, especially not post or phone calls. It was a bit, oh!Within ten days Stef had accepted his three year position (signing one year at a time) in Nairobi. We're moving to Kenya! Or rather, we're being moved, all 700 permissable kilos included (do we even have that much between us? We've always moved with regular bag allowance on planes!).It's admittedly strange. Moving somewhere you've never been. All you can do is ask lots of people who've lived there, you know, what's it like? It comes out as a hodge-podge description. A little mix-and-match. How can one person say, you can't leave the house alone, and another, my wife's walking around alone downtown all the time? It seems dangerous, but how much? Very very! some people say, then others, just dont be a fool.. We dont know. But we keep hearing better and better things, compared to the beginning. There are so many organizatons there we think cait possibly will find work more easily than in rome. Our apartment will be paid so even if it's on miminum salary, I'd be interested if the work seems good. We're excited, in the true sense of the word: nerves all over the place, but looking very much forward. We should be in Paris a month for Stef's training in December, and in Kenya for the new year.Whew! So that some of the news, but not what we REALLY got you all together in this cozy group email for... Ready? Here comes news number two!:WE ARE GETTING MARRIED!Right away, before we go! I mean, we really like each other. And we can't tell you more than that because we don't actually know. Probably we're going to have a quick and tiny paper-signing ceremony here in Italy, and a wedding to follow when we get organized, mid- or post-Nairobi! So many things to do. Things are changing fast at the moment so we will absolutely keep you all posted about our happenings when we understand more.Getting married, would you believe? Of course, we are both still scratching our heads (with increasing vigour) about what to do in the future when we get back from Africa. That means, well, we are severely geographically challenged, something about the north-west hemisphere and the south-east hemisphere, and that they are very far apart. If you have never compared the location of Perth and Portland, Maine, you might want to for a chuckle. Everyone faces their challenges, right? We predict a lot of airplanes in the years to come.Whew! Out of breath! So, whoever still wants to sneak in a cheeky last visit to Rome, we suggest you let yourself be known very soon! Whoever will be in Paris in December, send us a line to catch up. And of course, Kenya, anyone? Or, does anyone have a buddy there we could look up? Lots of loveCaitlin and StefanoPs- here are a few little pics we thought we'd share.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------1. no points if you guessed this location.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------2.
